2006 revisited.....

o`gaan dit?
looking back at my time in south africa makes me want to tell some stories from my time in norway after i got back. even tho living abroad in such a different environment is very enriching, it is always good to come home. it is, after all, quite priceless to be in a place where most things are known to you, where you feel you belong (even tho it gets boring after staying there too long..) and where you can walk around in the dark without any fears. and where "can i have a coffee, please" actually means real, good filtercoffee.... ;)

going up north to my grand dads island, bærøya. the most precious of my childhood memories.. its so so quiet... only the sound of waves breaking against land, birds squeeking and boats passing by...

my best friend and the most amazing woman on this planet, sanna, and i. we were running around at this beach like 5 year olds whilst waiting for the ferry from kjerringøy :)

fishing in saltstraumen, bodø - the worlds strongest maelstrom! (i can add that we didnt really get any fish above 500 grams. however, sanna got a boat full of tourists on the hook! hahahah! we first thought it was the biggest fish in history!)

climbing mountains in Lofoten, one of the most gorgeous places on earth!

....and in henningsvær we also ran into this little businessman, lofotværingen Henrik! talk about being an entrepreneur! he told me he had been working hard going to the beach to pick shells, sea urchins (kråkebolle), small stones and "bobbelurer". he was selling them on his little stand by the road - to earn some money during his holidays! how cute!



and here comes the bunad! it doesnt get more norwegian than this! where are the fiddles and the traditional dancers? kine (its her confirmation in lillehammer) to the right, sonja (my dads wife) third right with her mother solveig in the back. myself and lillivenn (my youngest sister marthe) are number 5 and 6 from the right. JA, VI ELSKER DETTE LANDET! (its all about being a nationalist? or maybe not according to my mother ;))

me and lassi - the horse my sister used to have. i would definitely buy lassi if i was to stay here in volda. she is such a great and fun horse!
